Does the firm offer free consults?

No, the firm charges a flat fee of $475 for a consult up to one hour. The fee is due 24 hours in advance of the consult. When a consult is scheduled, you will receive a link to pay the fee and instructions on where to email any documents.

Does the firm represent both employers and employees?

Yes, provided there is no conflict.

In addition to the $475 prepaid consult fee, how much of a retainer does the firm charge?

It depends on the amount of work needed. The firm tries to accomplish as much as possible during the prepaid consult. If more work is needed, the retainer will be set depending on the amount of work anticipated.

For example, for a severance negotiation or for prosecuting or defending an EEOC/TWC Charge, the firm requires a minimum retainer of $5,000 and may require more depending on the anticipated amount of work involved.

For a litigation matter, the firm requires a minimum retainer of $10,000 and may require significantly more depending on the anticipated amount of work involved, especially in a non-compete dispute.

Does the firm handle litigation matters on a contingent fee?

Occasionally yes, but only if after evaluating the case during a prepaid consultation, the firm believes it has a chance of prevailing on the merits. No outcome in litigation is ever guaranteed.

If the firm agrees to take a case on a contingent fee, what expenses will the client be responsible for?

The client will be responsible for all expenses, including filing fees, court reporter and videographer fees, process server fees, research fees, document and exhibit preparation fees, expert fees, trial consultant fees, and travel fees. Expenses in an employment case can be $10,000 or more.

Does the firm do any work on a flat fee?

Yes, the firm prepares employment contracts for employers on a flat fee. The amount of the flat fee will depend on the amount of work anticipated.

Does the firm handle employment contract negotiations on a flat fee?

No. For employment contract negotiations, the firm charges by the hour with a minimum retainer of $5,000.
